In 2017, the James R. Moran Endowment Fund for the Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus was started, in order to help ensure the longevity of the chorus.
A patron of the chorus, and community LGBTQ advocate, James R. Moran established an endowment with a gift of $25,000. Administered by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, the endowment provides a stable interest income for the chorus. Gifts to the endowment allow it to grow and produce more interest. The RGMC uses the endowment interest payments to support our mission related activities.
Are you interested in helping the RGMC with our mission but overwhelmed by the thougth of writing another check or giving up your assets today? A charitable bequest in your will or living trust is a simply, flexible way to ensure we can continue our work for years to come.
A thoughtful legacy gift helps ensure that we can continue serving the community through excellence in choral arts. This type of charitable gift arrangement allows you to make a gift after your lifetime, while giving financial benefits for yourself and loved ones.
The William A and Frances Z Smith Scholarship Fund was established in June 2018. As longtime supporters of the RGMC, Bill and Fran attended many a concert and special event. They also lent their talents to our annual Ga(y)rage Sale when it returned in 2016.
Sadly, Bill passed away June 11, 2018. The family set up the Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide financial support for new member singing dues, for members up to their third year of singing. A gift to the Scholarship Fund ensures that Bill and Fran's love of the RGMC continues as it supports RGMC dues scholarships.
