Request a performance from the RGMC

Thank you for your interest in the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus. We are honored to share our voices and mission with the community through live performances that celebrate diversity, unity, and the power of music.

Whether you're planning a community event, a corporate gathering, a private celebration, or something entirely unique, our chorus brings heart, harmony, and a message of inclusion to every stage we sing on.

To request a performance, please fill out our Performance Request Form. We’ll work with you to tailor a musical experience that fits your event’s needs and uplifts your audience.

Please Note:

• Requests for performances should be made at least 90 days in advance. Requests made within 90 days will be considered but may not be honored.

• Our busiest months are December (holiday season) and June/July (Gay Pride). Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability.

• Weekday performances are challenging as our members are volunteers and most have day jobs. Evenings and weekends typically work best.

• In order for the chorus to be heard in a large or outdoor space, amplification is needed beyond a simple public address system.

• Performances outside the Rochester area will be at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

• Remember that singing is more strenuous than talking — there are limits to how long our singers can sing! Performances are generally 30 minutes or less (5 to 6 songs).

• In addition to the full chorus, we have several small groups that may be available to provide performances and may be suitable for smaller events.

Performance Fee Schedule 

There are many costs associated with a performance, such as cost of music, rehearsal time, artistic staff, etc., which we pass along to you. Our suggested donation for a performance is as follows:

Performance fee (with songs in our current library) $500

Songs not in our library (to purchase and copy) $200 per song

Piano/keyboard* $100

ASL interpreter* $125

Sound equipment* $100

*These items may or may not be needed depending on venue and song selection.

Prices are negotiable for longer performances, nonprofit events, and performances by our smaller groups.
